HMPWK-FT Unismuh Makassar to hold a Leadership Talk on the Laboratory of Leadership.

TEKNIK.UNISMUH.AC.ID, MAKASSAR — The Student Association of PWK Faculty of Engineering (HMPWK-FT) of Muhammadiyah University (Unismuh) Makassar organized a "Leadership Talk" with the theme "Organizations as a Leadership Laboratory in a Dynamic Era."

The event took place on the 2nd floor of the PIKOM IMM–FT Auditorium, Unismuh Makassar, on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 15:00 Wita–until the end.

During the event, the Chairman of HMPWK-FT explained that this forum was designed as a real-life leadership practice, not just theory. "We want the executives to learn how to make decisions, map problems, and execute solutions – that is the true leadership laboratory," said the Chairman of HMPWK-FT, Muh. Farhan.

The event was attended by dozens of PWK students along with representatives from student organizations in the Faculty of Engineering. They consisted of active officials, prospective officials, as well as students interested in organizational management and student advocacy.

As a motivator, Kakanda Heruddin, Deputizing Coordinator of FKMTSI Region XI Sulselbar Period 2020–2021, emphasized the importance of process discipline. "Organizations train three things: personal integrity, data sensitivity, and the courage to take responsibility. Without these three foundations, the dynamics of the current era easily make us reactive," he said firmly. He also shared tips on building cross-generation teams. "Task rotation and peer mentoring prevent knowledge from "settling" in one person. That is what maintains program continuity," said Heruddin.

The moderator, Aprillah Noor Andryan (Secretary of Organizational Development of HMPWK-FT), summarized the discussion into three follow-up focuses. "First, written work standards; second, organized communication channels; third, performance-based evaluation. With these three things, the program is not dependent on figures," explained the Secretary of Organizational Development of HMPWK.

In the future, HMPWK-FT will focus on building a sustainable learning ecosystem – from standard work modules, cross-generational mentoring, to monthly reflection forums – to strengthen the culture of professionalism and collaboration.
