The team of students from the Faculty of Engineering, consisting of students from the Department of Informatics Engineering and Electrical Engineering, successfully achieved a Gold Medal at the IoT Asia Competition 2026 held in Singapore in February 2026.

The team developed a Smart Waste Management System — an IoT-based intelligent waste management system that uses ultrasonic sensors for monitoring waste capacity, route optimization with genetic algorithms, and real-time monitoring dashboards.
