The team of Informatics Engineering students from the Faculty of Engineering, Demo University, consisting of Andi Prasetya (class of 2023), Putri Rahayu (class of 2023), and Rizal Fadillah (class of 2024), successfully won the 1st Prize in the National AI Innovation Hackathon 2026.

The competition, organized by the Ministry of Communication and Informatics of the Republic of Indonesia, was attended by more than 200 teams from all over Indonesia. The FT team successfully developed an AI-powered application for early detection of rice plant diseases using computer vision.

"We are very proud of our students' achievement. This proves that the quality of education at the Faculty of Engineering is able to compete at the national level," said Dr. Ir. Rizki Pratama, M.Cs, the team's advisor.

The team won a prize of Rp 100 million and the opportunity to incubate their startup at Bekraf Creative Hub for 6 months.
