Unismuh Architecture Students Win Bronze Medal at ISC 2025 International Competition

TEKNIK.UNISMUH.AC.ID, MAKASSAR — Two teams of architecture students from the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Muhammadiyah (Unismuh) Makassar, have successfully won bronze medals at the 2025 International Student Competition (ISC) held at Universitas Mataram, Lombok, Nusa Tenggara Barat, on Friday (September 5, 2025).

The competition, initiated by the Faculty of Food Technology and Agroindustry, Universitas Mataram, was participated in by participants from five countries: Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Gambia, and Sierra Leone.

The first team, led by Dita Fadilah with members Muh Risman, Dewi Rahma, Meylani Mega Utama, and Muh Fahri Naufal Robbani, presented an essay titled: "Smart Rooftop Campus: The Integration of IoT-Based Vertical Farming in a Regenerative Architectural Approach for Campus Open Space Revitalization," presented directly by Dita Fadilah. Meanwhile, the second team, led by Khairatul Amalia with members Fatimah Fitri Werua Ilpin, Dini, Ahmad Teguh Wirajaya Saputra, and Khadijah, presented an essay titled: "Smart Learning Space: Designing an Inclusive Learning Space Based on Coding and Artificial Intelligence," presented by Fatimah Fitri.

Both works emphasize the importance of sustainable architectural innovation that addresses global issues, both in the environmental and educational fields.

The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Unismuh Makassar, expressed his appreciation for this achievement. "The innovative work of the architecture students, both in terms of IoT-based vertical farming and AI-based inclusive learning spaces, demonstrates their creativity on a global scale. We hope this achievement will motivate the academic community to continue innovating," said Dean Ir. Muhammad Syafaat S Kuba, S.T., M.T.

The success of these two teams is also due to the guidance of Ir. Andi Yusri, S.T.,M.T., as a supervisor, as well as the full support of the Head of the Architecture Study Program, Ar. Hj. Citra Amalia Amal, S.T.,M.T.,AIA.

This achievement in the international competition also proves that architecture students from Unismuh Makassar are able to compete globally with ideas that contribute to future development.
