HMPWK-FT Unismuh Makassar to Hold GIS Training: Enhance Spatial Data Analysis and Visualization Skills.

**TEKNIK.UNISMUH.AC.ID, MAKASSAR —** The Student Association of Regional and Urban Planning, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar (HMPWK-FT Unismuh Makassar), through the Research and Science Division, once again held a capacity-building event for students. This time, the event, titled "Geospatial Information System (GIS): An Effective Solution for Spatial Data Analysis and Visualization," focused on training on the use of ArcGIS for map analysis and visualization.

The event was themed "Enhancing Spatial Potential and Data, ArcGIS Training for Spatial Map Analysis and Visualization." Featuring Ichsan Caesar Pratama, ST, a young planner and founder of NAGARA, as a speaker. Meanwhile, Rahmat Jaya Amin, a member of the Research and Science Division of HMPWK-FT, acted as the moderator.

The training was held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 09.30 WITA to completion. And the event was held on the 3rd floor of the Iqra Tower, Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar.

The event aims to provide students with a deeper understanding of the importance of using GIS in the field of regional and urban planning, particularly in analyzing and presenting more effective and accurate spatial data.

Through the presentation of materials and direct practice using the ArcGIS software, participants will be trained in analyzing spatial data and creating informative maps. In the presentation session, Ichsan Caesar Pratama emphasized the importance of students' skills in mastering GIS.

"The ability to process spatial data through GIS, especially ArcGIS, will be an important asset for planning students. Not only for academic purposes, but also as preparation for facing the working world that demands high technical skills," said Ichsan.

"Remember! GIS is not just a tool, but a real solution in planning, development, and research," he added.

The event received positive responses from participants who enthusiastically participated in each session. Through this training, HMPWK-FT Unismuh Makassar demonstrated its commitment to encouraging students to continue adapting to technological developments, particularly in the field of spatial planning and data analysis.
