HMIF-FT UNISMUH Makassar Successfully Held "The Last Session DevCycle #4" Collaboration with Google Team to Optimize Gemini Pro for Student Productivity

TEKNIK.UNISMUH.AC.ID, MAKASSAR — The Informatics Department of the Faculty of Engineering Student Association of Muhammadiyah University Makassar (HMIF-FT UNISMUH) has successfully held the final session of the series of activities, which took place on September 18, 2025. This event was a collaboration with Google Student Ambassadors, focusing on introducing artificial intelligence technology and equipping students with Gemini Pro skills.

With the theme "Upgrading Student Gemini to Gemini Pro and Getting to Know Advanced Gemini Features," the event aims to facilitate students in understanding and utilizing Gemini Pro, which is now freely accessible to academics. This session was specifically designed to equip students with the ability to use various advanced Gemini features to support efficiency and effectiveness in completing various academic tasks.

This educational session was led by Galbi Nadifah, as a Google Student Ambassador and secretary of the Informatics Department, assisted by her colleagues A.Facri as the head of the Informatics Department and Ahmad Fatir as a member of the Informatics Department. The activity took place on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM WITA, at Room 3.5, 3rd Floor of the Iqra Tower, Faculty of Engineering, Muhammadiyah University of Makassar.

One of the main agendas of this event is a live demonstration of the key features of Gemini Pro. Participants were introduced to the Deep Research capability for in-depth topic analysis, VEO 3 for video content generation, the generate image feature, Canvas as a collaborative workspace, Gemini Coach as a personal learning assistant, and Gemini Live as a Google assistant that can always accompany. The session was also enlivened with interactive quizzes to test participants' understanding of the material presented.

The Chairman of the Faculty of Engineering Student Association, Ahmad Nur Rahman, expressed his appreciation and support for this initiative. Through events such as DevCycle #4 Collaboration with the Google Team, we hope that students in the HMIF-FT UNISMUH can have high quality and productivity, and constantly adapt to the latest technological developments.

With the successful holding of this event, it is hoped that students will become more productive and innovative by integrating the advanced features offered by Gemini Pro in their academic activities.
