Unismuh Faculty of Engineering Welcomes Visit from Trisakti University's Architecture Program

TEKNIK.UNISMUH.AC.ID, MAKASSAR— The Faculty of Engineering, Muhammadiyah University (Unismuh) Makassar, hosted a visit from the Secretary of the Architecture Master's Program at Trisakti University, Dr. Retna Ayu Puspatarini, ST., MT, on Thursday, June 13, 2025. This visit was part of a roadshow to promote Trisakti's Master's (S2) and Doctoral (S3) Architecture programs to various universities across Indonesia, including Unismuh, a strategically important location in Eastern Indonesia.

According to the Head of the Architecture Study Program at Unismuh Makassar, Citra Amalia Amal ST. MT. IAI., the purpose of this activity was to introduce further education opportunities to Unismuh lecturers and alumni, and to create a synergy between the two institutions in the academic and educational quality development fields.

"This meeting was a very productive discussion. In addition to introducing Trisakti's S2 and S3 Architecture programs, we also discussed opportunities for collaboration between lecturers, postgraduate development, and the exchange of speakers for joint seminars and research," said Citra.

During the presentation, Dr. Retna Ayu highlighted the advantages of Trisakti's postgraduate Architecture program, including the hybrid learning system, a research- and professionally-based curriculum, and scholarships available for prospective students outside the Jabodetabek area. The discussion also covered potential collaboration in the field of tropical urbanism, green architecture, and local culture studies.

"Through this meeting, we aim to build a wider network and motivate Unismuh lecturers and alumni to pursue doctoral studies," added Retna Ayu.

This visit also provided an opportunity for the Unismuh Architecture Study Program to benchmark against the management of postgraduate programs. Some best practices from Trisakti that were observed included the mentor-lecturer system, encouragement of scientific publication productivity, and adaptive quality governance that adapts to the times.

Citra Amalia affirmed that Unismuh welcomed this initial step. "We see great opportunities to establish formal collaboration, especially in the areas of improving program quality, accreditation, and lecturer human resource development. This aligns with Unismuh's mission as a leading and competitive university," she concluded.
