FT.UNISMUH.AC.ID, MAKASSAR — The Faculty of Engineering at Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar (Unismuh Makassar) has sent three students to participate in the Sakura Science Exchange Program, a joint program between Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar and Kanazawa Institute of Technology (KIT), Japan. The three students consist of two male students and one female student who will attend the program activities in Japan from October 11–19, 2026.

The participation of the Faculty of Engineering students in this international program is part of the effort to broaden students' academic experience and global perspective. Through the Sakura Science Exchange Program, students will have the opportunity to gain direct insight into the advancements in science and technology in Japan while interacting with an international academic environment.
Embodying the spirit of knowledge exchange, the program provides students with the opportunity to gain overseas learning experiences through various academic activities and exposure to technology. The collaboration with Kanazawa Institute of Technology also opens up opportunities for students to directly observe the practical applications of science and technology development implemented within Japanese higher education institutions.
During the program, the three students are expected to make the most of this opportunity to broaden their perspectives, build international networks, and gain experiences that will support their competency development as Faculty of Engineering students. Their experiences in Japan are also expected to be shared with the academic community upon completion of the program.
The Unismuh Makassar Faculty of Engineering supports student participation in this international program as part of its commitment to strengthening the internationalization of education, student competency development, and the expansion of academic collaborations with foreign universities.
The departure of these three students also serves as an important milestone in strengthening the relationship between Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar and Kanazawa Institute of Technology. The Faculty of Engineering hopes that student participation in the Sakura Science Exchange Program will provide valuable experiences and serve as a foundation for producing increasingly competent, globally-minded engineering students who are ready to contribute to the advancement of science and technology.
