Faculty of Engineering to Hold Internal Audit for 2nd Surveillance ISO 21001:2018 Certification in 2025.

TEKNIK.UNISMUH.AC.ID, MAKASSAR — The Faculty of Engineering, Muhammadiyah University of Makassar (Unismuh), Makassar, reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining academic quality through the implementation of the 2nd Surveillance Audit for ISO 21001:2018 Certification in 2025. This audit is part of an ongoing process to ensure that the education management system operates according to international standards.
The audit took place within the Faculty of Engineering, involving various departments, including the Department of Informatics. The audit process was comprehensive, encompassing document review, interviews, and on-site verification related to the implementation of educational quality standards.
The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Ir. Muhammad Syafaat S Kuba, ST., MT., emphasized that this internal audit is not just a formal agenda, but a strategic step to ensure that the quality of educational services remains maintained. "This internal audit is the Faculty of Engineering's commitment to continuously maintaining and improving the quality of educational services. The ISO 21001:2018 standard serves as a reference for us to consistently provide the best for students and the community," he said.
The Internal Audit Team explained that the internal audit is conducted transparently and objectively. The audit does not only focus on administrative compliance but also assesses how quality standards are applied in daily academic activities. The audit process is not just about document compliance, but also about how quality standards are truly implemented in each department. The results of this audit will be the basis for continuous evaluation and improvement.
One of the departments audited is the Department of Informatics. The Head of the Department of Informatics, Rizki Yusliana Bakti, ST., MT., welcomed the implementation of this audit. "We welcome this audit as an effort to ensure that the academic governance in the Informatics Department operates according to standards. This is also a motivation to continue improving the quality of learning and academic services for students," she said.
This 2nd Surveillance Audit of the Internal Audit is part of the Faculty of Engineering, Unismuh Makassar's long journey to achieve the status of an excellent, adaptive, and globally competitive faculty. By referring to ISO 21001:2018, it is hoped that every unit in the faculty will consistently apply the principles of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
The implementation of this internal audit also reinforces the Faculty of Engineering's commitment to supporting Unismuh Makassar's vision of an Islamic university with advanced education, producing professional, honest, and globally competitive graduates at the national and international levels.
